Losing weight and balancing his lifestyle
Like many people Alex slowly but surely put on weight over the years. He's now figured out how to get this under control, whilst still enjoying the good things in life. This story is about how he found a way to balance his life in a more sustainable, healthier way.
During his early twenties he pretty much ate and drank whatever he wanted. He weighed around 80kg and was fairly fit; health and weight were never a concern. This started to change at age 26 when his colleague made a joke about his ‘beer belly’ that had started to appear.
Over the next seven years he went through phases of doing more exercise -including running a half marathon- but he still managed to gain weight, which eventually reached 92kg. Whilst he wanted to lose the weight and get fitter he realised he wasn’t motivated enough to really make a change. He didn’t have the right tools, he didn’t know enough about exercise and nutrition, and most importantly he didn’t really know the impact of his choices on his internal health. Read about how he turned things around here.
